Park Bond Update

Home City Services Parks & Recreation Park Bond Update

West Linn voters in November 1998 approved an $8 million General Obligation Bond Measure for the purpose of acquiring and developing park lands. 

Property acquisition's and development to date include:

1. Parcel located at 18292 Shady Hollow Way, this 3.53 acre gently sloping, wooded parcel with a creek is a nice addition to the park system. The future for this site will be as a neighborhood park. This parcel is adjacent to #2 listed below.

2. This parcel is located at the ends of Fairview Way and Lazy River Drive. This beautiful 11.5 acre parcel has great potential as a future community park site. This parcel is adjacent to #1 listed above. Robinwood Park has been and is under development

3. Located between Upper and Lower Midhill Drives and West of Arbor Drive, this 5.22 acre site also will be developed as a neighborhood park.
Midhill Park has been approved through the Land Use process. Clearing and construction in this  park  will begin in the late spring 2005.

4. Located at 3340 Parker Road, this approximately 9 acre site has an unlimited possibilities to be a great neighborhood park and house some athletic fields and a skate park. The final construction on Tanner Creek Park was finished in 2004. This beautiful park contains play structures, a  shelter, water feature play area, basketball court, tennis court, two restrooms, a skate park, picnic tables and a beautiful open grass area. 

5. Located at 821 Willamette Falls drive this 19.9 acre site sits on the Tualatin River. This riverfront property has unlimited possibilities as a community park. Fields Bridge Park is now under construction, as of September 2005.

6. Located on Valley View Drive between Suncrest Drive and Kapteyns Street this 10 acre site is planned as a future park. Marylhurst Park has been annexed into the City and plans will be submitted in the near future for the Land Use Process

Projects accomplished to date include:

* $200,000 in matching funds for New Adult Community Center construction.
* Completed Aquatic/community center Feasibility Study.


Acquisitions still targeted include:

* Property for Willamette River Greenway Trail.
      
* A minimum 5 acre site for aquatic/community center.

Projects targeted include:

* Development of Willamette River Greenway Trail.
         
* Development of at least five new athletic fields.
